Frequently Asked Questions:

Can I get a refund if I don't make it to the race?

There are no refunds if you are not able to participate at the race. Your registration fee becomes a donation to My Village Northwest.

Can I change my distance after I register?

Yes. You can email [email protected] with changes before race day. Otherwise, when you pick up your race packet (either at early packet pick-up or race day) please let the volunteer know you would like to change the distance and they will issue you an entirely new bib number and timing chip.

Where do I park?

We encourage participants to use the Seattle Times employee parking just south of the Times building.  There are also spots in and around the business park that are available for use. See the Schedule page under Parking & Directions.

Can I run the race with a stroller?

You can run the 5K with a stroller. We ask that participants pushing strollers line up at the back of the pack at the start line.

I want to sign up as a family, but I don't want to run the same distance as the rest of my family. Can I do that?

Yes. Members of a family can register for different distances.

A group of us want to register for the race together. Can we sign up as a family?

Only related individuals may sign up as a family (married couples or domestic partners, children, grandparents, etc.). If individuals in the group are not related, then you will need to pick out a team name, fill out a team registration form, and register as an individual.

Are dogs allowed at the race?

Certified therapy dogs and therapy dogs in training are welcome at the race. Unfortunately, due to liability, family dogs are prohibited at the event.

What are the courses like?

The 1 Mile Walk is on paved surfaces. The 5K include slight inclines and declines and include both paved trail and packed gravel surfaces.

I'm registering as a team captain and am wondering if I can pick up my entire team's packets at one time.

You are able to pick up an entire team’s packets if you have contacted us in advance to let us know you would like to do that. Information on who to contact is included in the team packet online.

I ordered a medium t-shirt but now I'd like to change my size. Can I do that?

Maybe. In order to be fair to everyone who pre-ordered shirts, we need to distribute shirts based on the size you ordered. Therefore, when you pick up your packet, you will be given the shirt size you ordered. As packet pick-up comes to a close race morning, check back at the registration tent to see if there is enough inventory to swap your shirt in for a different size.

Will I be able to pick up the tshirts I ordered AFTER the race?

You are welcome to pick up your shirts after the race. Shirts will be held for 30 days.

I have a disabled parking permit. Can I park at the Seattle Times entrance?

If you have a disabled permit, you may drop off at the entrance to the Seattle Times. However, you must then park across the street, in a designated area. Parking attendants will direct you to the parking areas the morning of the race.l.
